Social security
Residents and non-residents
- working in Malta are required to pay social security contributions on their gross salary in Malta or in the country of their employer after an E101 has been issued.
Social security rates for 2012:
- 10.00% for employers of the weekly basic wages,
- 10.00% for employees of the weekly basic wages.
The social security contributions are subject to minimum and maximum amounts. The total maximum contribution in 2012 is EUR 37.85 per week.
