Do I need a visa?

This will mainly depend on which country you are travelling to: if it is in one of the EU Member countries, then there is no need for an EU citizen to apply for a visa.

For all other circumstances, the visa situation is extremely important and should be carefully checked well before your departure. Some countries insist that you have your visa arranged before arrival, whereas some will grant you one as you arrive. Some airlines will not even let you board the plane if you do not have the relevant paperwork, which ends up being fairly costly and extremely inconvenient.

Even if a visa is not necessary for your travel, many countries will request that your passport be valid for the duration of your trip, or for at least six months from your entry date.
